The uniqueness of IRIS lies in its simple and stepless dosing mechanism. Inspired by the iris diaphragm of a camera lens, I translated its mechanism into a simplified form. A narrowing slot inside and the rotatable lid with a hole ensure comfortable dosing. This allows IRIS to be used with spices of varying coarseness. To reinterpret the cork as a traditional closure, it also serves as a small aid in determining the amount of salt.
