In this photograph, Damian Byland dealt with the relationship between man, nature and technology. The groomed ski slope in the foreground of the picture and the functional architecture of the mountain station reveal the artificiality of the winter landscape, which is further intensified by the repetition of certain pictorial elements that have been assembled on the computer. The logic of the appearance of the individual pictorial elements makes it clear that landscape is always a construct of human disposition and the drawing of boundaries. "Crap Masegn" is a layering of multiple layers, all of which are formed by human hand and create an artificial (picture) landscape.
