PLANE BENCH

PLANE is a bench & stool with a clear architectural presence, inspired by paperplanes and made from two folded aluminium sheets—reduced to the essentials yet surprisingly expressive. Its elegance emerges directly from its structural logic and reflects Damian Byland’s design approach: transforming industrial materials into functional everyday objects through minimal, precise interventions. The anodised surface protects against weather and scratches, making PLANE suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The entire bench—including all screws—is made from 100% aluminium, making it fully recyclable by material type. This consistent choice of material enables a closed-loop system and emphasises the commitment to durability.
