RAW BENCH

RAW is a bench with a clear architectural presence, made from two folded aluminium sheets—reduced to the essentials yet surprisingly expressive. Its raw elegance emerges directly from its structural logic and reflects Damian Byland’s design approach: transforming industrial materials into functional everyday objects through minimal, precise interventions. The anodised surface protects against weather and scratches, making RAW suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. The entire bench—including all screws—is made from 100% aluminium, making it fully recyclable by material type. This consistent choice of material enables a closed-loop system and emphasises the commitment to durability. Byland is currently working on a stackable version to make RAW even more versatile for use in public spaces.
